Mike Gould has recently released the confirmed fixtures for the 2011 Tour of Bournemouth district. They are as follows:-

There are some excellent clubs here, not the least that frequented by my late father-in-law whose fertile ashes are partly responsible for the lush green turf at the Wessex. He was Club Champion in 1982. This will be a Tour to Remember.

Our plans for the pavilion extension are being reviewed by Lewes District Council. If approved it's likely we will have to raise all the funding oursleves, an estimated £18,000. So let's get thinking. What can you do to help? What good will it do us? First of all it will enable us to use the pavilion more in winter, for things like Short Mat Bowls, besides extending the social possibilities. This will help to provide income. It will also enable us to accomodate guests of visiting clubs and especially Touring Clubs, this latter activity being a significant income generator in addition to providing an excellent environment for meeting fellow bowlers from around the country. We should rest only when Cliff is turning potential visitors away because we are fully booked due to our reputation as a hospitable, friendly and fun club to visit. We all have a part to play, not just Norma, Don and the usuals.
